“Building Today, Shaping Tomorrow” was the motto for the 50th anniversary of the Chamber – somehow timeless! Has nothing changed since then? Of course it has! Even back then, the focus was on the future, but looking back also had a prominent place in the new Kleines Haus of the Mainz State Theatre. A quarter of a century later, planning and designing is still oriented toward a tomorrow – what else? But how this tomorrow will look, what we consider necessary and desirable, how the architectural profession in Rhineland-Palatinate positions itself and works, what it fears and hopes for – all of this has changed, sometimes in nuances, in many ways fundamentally.
